George Clooney

is the picture-perfect gentleman and the epitome of the red-carpet. Is there a man with more style, class, and grace than George Clooney? He's, by all accounts, a silver fox with hard-fought wisdom and poise. He’s an alluring man with a compelling story behind him.

George Clooney is no less than a style icon. He has classic Hollywood good looks, notable talent… and seemingly all the fixings. What he also possesses is a personal style that is very much his own. He is effortlessly classic, but not stuffy. He is understated, yet sophisticated. Perhaps simple, but never uninteresting.

FASHION AND GENTLEMEN

The way he presents himself is to be admired. Fashion is made for gentlemen like Mr. Clooney: actor, global role model, an icon for young men. The actor is a perfect example for men who are addicted to looking flawless, impeccable and effortlessly well-planned.

The mainstay of Clooney’s wardrobe are basics and classics, and he also works around a fairly limited set of colours that he knows suit his style. Regardless of the outfit or event, he looks natural in a suit or shirt. This sense of easy elegance is one of the reasons why we love him. But what George Clooney does to look good in formalwear is no magic trick. He routinely wears well-fitting, well-made, flattering pieces designed to accentuate his stature.

Now a household name, George Clooney started his career with minor roles in 1980’s TV shows such as The Facts Of Life and The Golden Girls. Having since starred in award-winning shows and blockbuster movies, the Oscar winner's fashion sense has certainly evolved since his first red carpet appearances.

Clooney is the master of using basics and wearing it elegantly. The fact that a vast majority of people think he is an over-the-top stylish person just speaks volumes about how sophistication means sometimes less is more. There is no “peacocking” about his look, or loud, complex patterns. His suits are simply clean and elegant.

We hold to the philosophy that (although quality materials and craftsmanship are critical to timeless, lasting pieces), a great fitting, but economical suit is better than an expensive, poorly fitted one. If you choose to go the bespoke route, consider it an investment. If your tendency is to buy, then  “make your own,” look for a tailor that understands body types and how to cut for them. Blue and gray flatter just about anyone. Both are slimming and exude power and confidence.

Clooney has perfected the dark and moody, tailored ensemble. On one hand, it’s about as simple a look as you can get - a midnight blue suit, dark navy button-up, and black wingtip brogues. The beauty of it is that it’s executed perfectly, in both fit and color. When it comes down to it, elegance is simple.

DRESSING WELL

George Clooney has made the art of dressing well look easy, and surprisingly enough, it’s pretty simple to replicate. "You don't want to try to look younger, because you'll look wrong. You dye your hair, you look wrong. You wear a bad toupee, you look wrong. You wear makeup to hide things, you get your eyes done, you look wrong," says Clooney. The real trick is using what you have, and making the absolute best of it.

Clooney’s allure goes way more than just good looks. He is a special man, dedicated to his friends and family. He credited his closest friends with helping him get where he is today. And in 2013, without telling anyone, it’s rumored he decided to pay them back for all they’ve done. He explains, “I’ve slept on their couches when I was broke. They loaned me money when I was broke. They helped me when I needed help over the years. And I’ve helped them over the years.”

$1 million in cash

It is said that he generously gifted, to whom he calls “The Boys,” a million dollars each after earning an excessively unexpected amount of money from the film Gravity. He reportedly purchased 14 Tumi suitcases, found a way to get $14 million in cash, and drove a florist’s van into a deserted parking lot, (straight out of one of his Ocean 11 movies).

He filled each of the bags with $1 million in cash. Once it was loaded, he drove the van back to his house. Only his assistant, “and a couple of security guys that were sh–ting themselves,” knew about the plan. He told his friends to mark their calendars for a dinner party at his place, and when they arrived, he presented them with the suitcases. Rande Gerber, Clooney’s longtime friend and business partner told MSNBC in 2017, “That sums up the kind of man he is….way more than a good looking guy.”

Amal Alamuddin

Like a fine wine, Clooney seems to get better with age. A man who could have charmed any woman, he chose not to settle for Hollywood glam in his life partner. Clooney’s wife, Amal Alamuddin, is a successful, beautiful, and intelligent international lawyer who has dedicated much of her work to defend humanitarian rights. George and Amal have made a conscious effort of dedicating their time to worthy causes.

Their philanthropic commitments range from Make-a-Wish to joining forces with others to combat atrocities within the Sudanese government against its own people. In an interview, Clooney revealed that his humanitarian efforts in Darfur hadn’t turned out quite as he’d hoped, but added that it didn’t matter. “What matters is you just keep trying,”

For a man who seemingly has it all, he keeps close to him those who helped when he had nothing. He’s a conscious man who cares about bigger issues, and seeks to be part of the solution. Perhaps one of his most endearing qualities is humility. He has not forgotten where he is from, and dedicates his life to giving back. To us, Clooney is the perfect portrayal of style, class, and elegance - a gentleman. Join us.
